Hi everyone! I'm looking to get some quick help in choosing a LCD TV from tesco (apparently stocks are running out - not sure if that's true). I guess even if you're not from the UK you'll be able to give advice.

I'd like to get a 47 inch LCD TV by LG. There are two different ones that I can see: LG 47LD450 (649 GBP) and LG 47LD690 (799 GBP).

I don't mind paying the extra for the more expensive one, but I'm not an expert with LCD TV's, and am wondering if its worth paying the extra 150 pounds?

You can find both screens in tesco's 47 inch TV's section.

Advice would be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance!

Hi Anths

I quess it all depends what/how you want to connect your tv with. I suppose performance-wise,both tvs are the same. They only differ in facilities. The more expensive one has 3 hdmi imputs instead of 2,wireless av link,hd usb link and freeview built-in.The only other difference is "truemotion" on the more expensive one, which sometimes such things are better turned off if there is the option (but to be honest, you have to evaluate this with your own eyes)and slighlty better contrast ration, ehich is irrelevant. What matters is picture quality.not specs.I know i've made things more complex for you but if want my opinion, buy the cheaper one unless you need some of those extra facilities/imputs and convinience of the more expensive one.
