Hi all,

I have had a MF A5 integrated amp for about 2 years. I like the sound, thought I would keep for a long time. I just moved flat and when turned on a circuit board back left blew up. little flames and smoke. The rest of the internals still look all right.

Is it worth looking at getting fixed or throw away? any advice is welcome.

If I should buy a new amp, any suggestions for similar sound/quality, not super pricey?

Thanks.

Seems a malfunction for your MF amp. Accept my condoleance!
You can always ask the technical service of a hifi shop what it will cost. Some they do not charge anything when they only do a research to identify the problem.

If it is not fixable or too expensive I would stuck with a MF amp. Maybe another A5 or a pre/power amp combi. Good luck!
