Hi,

My only source is my computer which of course has its own volume control.

So am I correct that I can simply use the PC with a power amplifier directly.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hello Wayne,

It is an interesting question! You can use your pc as a pre-amp for your power-amp, because your pc has a built in volume control. What kind of power-amp you want to use?

I am thinking cyrus mono x with b&w 805s.

My choices are partly based on what I can get locally from ebay.

Not a bad choice! You can consider buying a Cyrus pre-amp later. It certainly will get you better sound quality.
