"Legendes" Renaud Garcia-Fons. ENJA Label ENJ-9314-2.

The is what 6moons said in their review Best of recording Awards 2006

"It should be called bass quartets with percussion, for one player - but Légendes includes that meaning once you know that that's what we're really talking about. Yes, it's a 13-year old recording. Yes, this review is so behind the times as to not be funny. But guess what? Once you cue up the first track "Funambule", you won't care about being late to the party and left with the dishes. By the time you get to the Jazz/Funk "La Guitare à King Kong" number, a Bobby McFerrin-remiscent affair for talking bass as it were, you'd throw your own rave. If you dig the contrabass, it'd be downright criminal not to own this recording. Strong words? Agreed - but you'd be the first to write up your own friends should they fail to take you serious once you've listened to Légendes. for the first time. So don't make me issue you a ticket, okay? Instead, I'd rather hand out a long-overdue award" .

Be prepared for something different which might take a few listens. It will certainly give the Hi-Fi a good work out. I said that.

The ENJA label is very varied wearing lot's of guises. It must be the German way, think ECM

This afternoon has been filled with mostly:

Led Zep II
Zero 7 - the garden
DJ Tiesto - in search of sunrise
Nizlopi - most of these songs are about you

All good.

Enjoying the new carpet sound, amazing what a difference flooring makes.

I've just previewed some of the tracks using Napster. Very interesting, though a bit challenging for me.

Have you heard Propeller Heads "Take California"? Fasntastic high tempo hifi workout. Although somewhat different to the above.

"Give 'em enough...Dope" volume 2. On CD.
A Wall of Sound compilation from 1995.
Loads of interesting and well presented 'trip hop' montages.

Think I'll switch to vinyl now...

I'm home alone tonight for a change, and loving it!
Undisturbed music listening. Isn't music great!!!

Jeff Buckley - Grace

i just got a vinyl copy from the Simply Vinyl range (to add to the countless other copies I own on varios formats...!) and can't stop playing it!

I hope i'm preaching to the converted here but if you don't own this album go and buy it. NOW! It truly is one of the most stunning albums ever recorded - made even more glorious on vinyl!!
