I guess a forum site can take up alot of bandwidth. Disappointing when the usual 99.9% of mosts hosts isnt met.

This is the discussion thread for the news article entitled "Recent Site Outages and Downtime - 9 August - 11 August".

As you may know, hififorum went offline from 9 August 2006 until 11 August for the reasons described in the above news article.

I have attached two images to this post; one showing the page exactly as it was shortly after the server was hacked (hififorumHacked.jpg), and another showing Google's translation of the text from Arabic into English (hififorumHackedTranslated.jpg).

you may be interested to know that since this last outage, i have moved hififorum away from it's old web host.

We are now being hosted elsewhere, on what should hopefully be a much faster, and more reliable server

So far, so good, anyway

As you may know, hififorum went offline on 21 and 22 April 2006 for the reasons described in the above news article.

I have attached a graph to this post showing the status of one of my other web sites on the same server for the last 7 days. Please note, however, that this monitoring didn't start until after the first outage, so only the second outage shows up as red.

The exact times of the first outage are as follows:

21-04-2006 05:03:45 GMT - DOWN
21-04-2006 08:46:36 GMT - UP

Also, the exact times of the second outage are as follows:

22-04-2006 08:54:26 GMT - DOWN
22-04-2006 09:27:26 GMT - UP
22-04-2006 09:37:26 GMT - DOWN
22-04-2006 09:50:26 GMT - UP
22-04-2006 09:55:26 GMT - DOWN
22-04-2006 09:56:26 GMT - UP
22-04-2006 10:06:26 GMT - DOWN
...extended outage...

With regards to monitoring, i am now closely monitoring the server 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so any future outages should be reported in full.
