Are the HDMI sockets on an NTSC TV the same as those on a PAL TV?
I'm currently located in Montreal Canada and need to buy a TV. The sets sold here are NTSC and are therefore incompatible with the European PAL standard. So If I buy here I can't use it when I return to the UK. The cost of a multi region TV is prohibitive and they are not readily available over here. However, in the UK I use my PC to watch TV. It has a Hauppage dual TV tuner allowing me to record to the PC hard disc and watch simultaeously. My Sony LCD TV connects to the PC over the HDMI output of PCs graphics card. So, if I buy a 1080P tv here in Canada, can I simply connect it the PC as before? I've asked this question in a number of retail TV shops here in Canada only to met with blank faces. Perhaps soeone out there can help me?
