hi all has anyone had any probs placing there kit on lamanit flooring i had my hifi on carpeted sprung wood floor spikes into cross head screws sunk into floor boards sound was very musical detailed clear sounding put new lamanit floor down had to fit oak cone feet to speakers and rack as spikes would scratch new flooring the sound is muddy very bass heavy not very musical can only listen to music so long before have to turn off should i decouple or couple my kit any ideas would be a big help

i think you'll have to invest in some rugs to soften the sound. you might be better off also, with squash balls, or similar, under your speaker feet to stop, or at least dampen, sound transferring through the floor.

I would agree with vinylroolz, get some soft thick rugs between the speakers and where you are sitting. A quick and free way of testing if it is going to work is to lay some duvets / pillows on the floor - if it works then the rug route is the right way to go...if it makes little or no difference then it's time to de-couple the kit.
