Its a sad day for me today, we have just moved out of our house after a super quick sale (not actually bought another house yet!) and have put our stuff into storage, and this includes my Hifi (well actually it's taking up space in my Dad's house).

Having gone one night without my stereo i am starting to get withdrawal symptoms, there should be a stereoholics anonymous so i can share my tales of woe!

Finding a new home is now priority 1 so i can revel in stereo bliss once again!

We sold a house 12 years ago and moved to a temporary rented home. Best property decision we ever made. We were able a few weeks later to move swiftly to buy a plot and build the home we now live in. Hope your hi fi sacrifice reaps dividends for your family.

Regards

... just temporarily unavailable.

And you have the opportunity to "start from scratch" in selecting and setting-up a new listening room - which is THE most important aspect of any music "system" (even more than the equipment, IMHO)

So, view this as a positive attribute of the situation as opposed to a negative one.

The other aspect is the "process of re-discovery" through which you will go when you eventually get things back in a functional state...

Yowza!

Perhaps this forum could offer that sort of service, with members offering 'hifi hostel' services to those of us termporarily without our own hifi listening facilities?
Kev, where are you currently?
If in the Gloucestershire area, I'd be more than happy to offer a cup of tea and the sound waves from my hifi setup to ease you through the pain!!!
All the best. We'll all pray for you.

Hey guys,

Just sold our house on the outskirts of Bracknell (mainly a new town built in the 60's, some big investment in the area which has boosted prices) and looking for our next project property.

We like making life difficult!

I like the idea of a Hifi Hostel, we may well be moving to Gloucestershire in the near future, land prices are still reasonable so suits our plans for new builds.

Thanks for the support guys, appreciated!

Bracknell - I used to short cut through there on my way to Brighton (it cuts off that often congested bit of the M4-M25)!
Yes - come to Gloucester! My partner and I have just bought a 3 bed house with lovely conservatory and garden for 129,495. And is it is an 'enterprise area' (?) there was no stamp duty to pay!!! Thank you Mr. Brown.

We're due to move in a couple of weeks. I'm excited about the large living room in which my hifi will then reside.

All the best with your house hunting.

Hey Guys,

The prices in the s.east have gotten out of control, in berkshire/hants/surrey with 130k you would be lucky to get a 1 bed flat!

Mind you the price of land is worse.

Sounds like a good investment Doc, if its an up and coming enterprise area then there must be big investments from developers and business's, this should drive the local prices up as people move there for work reasons, its what has happened in bracknell.
As soon as the plans for the town centre re-development were granted large developers moved straight in and have started building new housing estates, 1300 homes over the next few years!

Was the first tip i learned in property development, follow the investors!

Well lets hope so. Thanks for your encouragement.
Gloucester docks is currently enjoying a long overdue face lift. (Luxury flats, bars, etc.,...)
And although we bought the house (Victorian semi) because we like it, rather than as an investment, or because its in an enterprise area, it is pleasing to see our soon-to-be neighbourhood being brought up to scratch!
