I've come across a pair of Wharfedale Melton II vintage speakers online that I am tempted to buy for nostalgic reasons. I grew up with something similar in my folks' living room!

Speakers are described as working and I am prepared to do some repairs if necessary. (Never worked on speakers but am pretty able at this kind of thing).

I am happy to put the work in and don't mind at all they are physically bigger than modern speakers, that's part of the joy. But I wonder if I will end up with something worth listening to ... or if I should just put nostalgia to one side.

So how do I judge if it's worth a trip to London? I know there are a lot of people on here more knowledgeable than me – any advice gratefully taken!
