Hello people...

We are currently not running the latest version of XOOPS (the software that this site uses), and it would be really quite nice if we could be running the latest version!

The only problem with upgrading is that some modules, listed below, might not be available after the upgrade, until i can work out how to get them working again.

The modules that may not work immediately are:

- Photo Album
- Glossary
- Link To Us
- Classified Ads
- Reviews

The forum will still exist, as will the following other modules:

- News
- Polls
- Members
- Contact Us

Also, the personal messaging system will still be here.

So, i really need to upgrade at some point, but this could cause downtime for a day or two if it all goes wrong, so i'd like to pre-warn you that at some point during the next two weeks (when i have time!) this site may go through an upgrade routine.

The main question...

Can you all live without the modules above at least for a while, if they don't work after the upgrade?

Please let me know ASAP, as this site really does need to be upgraded

Cheers!!

The core features remain, so you will not inconvenience any body. Mind you, as Chairman, Chief Executive, financier, workforce and 'owner' it's good of you to consult!

Regards

Firstly, let me state that I am aware that this forum is something of a labour of love on your part and that you carry the costs. Having said that, any issue re platform change should be your decision.

If one of the major "drivers" behind this proposed upgrade is to ensure that your application platform is still supported by the vendor - then, by all means upgrade.

If, however, this upgrade has raised its head due to some ranting on my part about being "Auto Logged-Off", then reconsider - the latest version probably has the same capabilities in this regard.

Hi Spongey,

Am currently having serious hassles with ISP/Telco re home ADSL link, so will be brief (using work system).

From a quick squizz, some nice new features...

Will keep an eye open once home line challenges resolved.

Hey Chief,

Like the new colour scheme very easy on the eye, only little gripe is that username headers on posts are a little tricky to read, but then i am browsing from a laptop with a fairly poor screen!

cheers

Hey Chief,

Do you have to approve each and every post before it is shown?
That's going to take up a lot of your time, maybe some of us can help out?

If posts are shown quickly having a discussion could be tricky, maybe that could get annoying?!!

I will check out the report function.

Cheers
